Caroline's Bed & Breakfast Tour

Today I'm excited to share with you a project that has been in the works for quite some time. No, I'm not talking about another furniture makeover. Actually, I'm not even talking about myself today (weird, right?!), but instead, my aunt and uncle. It has been a lifelong dream of theirs to one day open a Bed & Breakfast. However, this isn't the sort of thing you just dream up one day and jump into. You know, there's that thing called life which often times gets in the way of our lofty goals and dreams. But, like any goal worth accomplishing, you work hard, you stick at it, and one day, your dreams become reality. Am I sounding like a cheesy motivational speaker here? (Sorry, proud niece moment!) Finally, last Fall everything started to fall into place and they packed up their bags, said good-bye to Indianapolis, and gave a great big "Hey y'all" to South Carolina. Come on in to Caroline's Bed & Breakfast and let me show you around!

The first thing you notice about the home is the spacious front porch.

It makes for an idyllic setting to sit back, relax and enjoy your beverage of wine. Oh wait, we're in the South now, so I'm pretty sure it's sweet tea down here.

Regardless of what you're drinking, I don't think it would take long to settle into the laid back pace down here in Low Country.

But don't get too comfy just yet, we haven't even made it inside!

Once inside, you'll notice the Victorian theme throughout the home. It creates a warm and welcoming environment. You'll also notice antique pieces throughout the home which really gives it a charming feel.

Now that we made it inside, let's check out the Living Room.

The rich color tones and dark wood furniture is a common theme you'll see throughout the home. It's formal without feeling too stuffy.

From the Living Room, let's move onto the Dining Room.

By now you're probably picking up on the fact that Caroline has an eye for interior design. Well that passion follows her into the kitchen as well. Her cooking does not disappoint. Definitely a perk for guests who get to enjoy a full service breakfast every morning!

One unique feature that has been incorporated in throughout the entire home is antique, salvaged fireplaces. The Dining Room includes one of these fireplaces.

Let's move onto the Bedrooms now. There are currently two different sleeping quarters, Ocean Side and The Gardens. We'll start with Ocean Side.

If you've been following me for awhile now, you probably know I have a thing for blue and white decor. Needless to say, this room is right up my alley. Maybe another way of putting it, when I come visit, I call dibs on this room (hint hint)!

This bedroom features another antique fireplace and an on-suite bathroom.

Moving on to The Gardens. The name says it all as it is decorated in a warmer color palette, incorporating in floral accents, giving the room a soft and soothing feel.

It is still quite spacious, and includes a sitting area as well.

In addition to the King size bed, there is a bunk bed, making it ideal for families.

Overall, the home blends an inviting feel with an elegant charm, making it the perfect setting for a weekend getaway while you explore the Low Country. I could go on, but instead, I think you should just check it out for yourself!
