Oh hey, guys! Remember me?! Yeah, it's been awhile since I've posted a new blog, I know! Things have been crazy busy over here, and it seems like every time I've sat down on my computer to write a post, I've gotten sidetracked with responding to customers, scheduling deliveries, listing new items in my shop, etc., that by the time I'm finished with that, I'm spent! There's been some other exciting things going on over here as well, and I'll be sharing more about that soon. To give you a hint - there will be A LOT of interior design / home decor posts coming up. Yes, these are all good problems to have, and you're not hearing me complain, but I really do miss my blogging!
It's hard to believe, and the weather isn't helping at all, but we are officially kicking off Summer season this weekend. Like last year, I'll be spending this weekend working at Randolph Street Market. If you're not familiar with RSM, it is a huge urban antique market located in Chicago's West Loop. With over 300 vendors selling everything from antiques and vintage goods to clothes and jewelry, there is something for everyone! Not to mention live music, kid activities, a beer garden and food from local eateries. It really is a fun event and a great way to spend the afternoon! You can find all the details here.
Although the market runs year-round, Memorial Day weekend marks the first outdoor fair of the year, and always draws a large and enthusiastic crowd. It's always a great time and I enjoy actually meeting my customers and getting to chat with them about my work.
This will be my third year participating in Randolph Street Market, and although it is held once a month, this is the only one I'll be at this year. That's right - it's now or never folks! Over these past several years, I've picked up a couple tips and tricks on how to achieve a successful weekend and set up an appealing booth, so hopefully this will be the best year yet!
Today I want to share some of the items I'll be bringing this year. I'm trying to bring a wide variety of bigger pieces like dressers and chests as well as smaller pieces like nightstands and desks. I'm also trying to mix it up with both lacquer finished pieces and chalk painted pieces. The end goal, bring back a lot less than what I brought!
So there you have it! It's going to be a great weekend and I'm looking forward to a busy next couple of days...and then a couple days of well deserved rest! If you live in the Chicago area, come on out and enjoy the market! If you see anything you're interested in, feel free to message me. Stuff goes fast and people are there to shop!
