With Spring just days away, I can't help but to turn my attention to the outdoors. The days are getting longer and the temperatures are slowly starting to creep up. All Winter I spent cooped up indoors working on home projects...decorating, painting, cleaning...getting our home in tip-top shape. I was feeling pretty good, like maybe I could finally sit back and relax. And then...it hit me. SPRING. Living in Chicago, Spring doesn't necessarily translate to backyard BBQ's and flip-flops, but, aside from making you realize that bathing suit season it quickly approaching, it also makes you remember that whole other part of your home that you have neglected these past four months...the outdoors.

Black & Gold Butlers Table

If you've been following me for awhile now, you've probably picked up on the fact that I have a style that I usually trend towards. Stained tops, distressed edges...that's me! I think most people tend to fall into a pattern for several reasons. For me, it's because 1) I happen to be a fan of that style and I'm not going to create a piece that I don't like and 2) I know it's popular and it sells. However, every now and then, it's good to get out of your comfort zone and try something new. And that's just what I did this week. I teamed up with an office furniture company, Relic Furniture Gallery, to transform one of their dated Butlers Table into something a bit more modern and up to date.
