"Okay, it's time." "You can do this." "It's just for a day, then things can go back to normal." These were the encouraging words I kept telling myself when preparing for this room renovation reveal. Why? Because it's the Mud Room. The room we enter through after being outside and dirty all day. The room we lock the dogs in when we're too lazy to clean them. The room we use as overflow storage. The room that has a never ending pile of laundry next to the washer. So, as you can imagine, the thought of getting this room photo-worthy was daunting to say the least. It meant I had to clean up our 'real-life' clutter and present it as a tidy and organized space. Trust me, I tried to photograph it 'as-is' and those pictures were less than appealing. I learned long ago I'm no June Clever when it comes to being a domesticated house wife.

Seeing that less than a year ago, the Before picture in this post was being proudly displayed as the After picture in another project, it's safe to say that when it comes to decorating around here, change is the only constant. I am forever moving knick-knacks around, swapping out one throw pillow for another, and in general always looking for what I can change next. You know that moment where you look around your home with a sigh of relief and think, "Finally, it's all done!". Yeah, that lasts for about all of 10 seconds for me...then it's onto another project! If you remember from earlier this year, I updated our dining room table. Inevitably, this has led to several other updates, the latest being the kitchen.

Ok guys, this is a big one. In the words of Julia Roberts from Pretty Woman (which is, by the way, a Top 10 classic in my books), if you don't read this post, "Big mistake. Big. Huge." I can't really say why I haven't shared this bathroom makeover yet, seeing as it was one of the first rooms in our lake house renovation we completed. I think the main reason was because it is such a dramatic change, and I wanted to get it just right, so I kept procrastinating. Well seeing as some of the rooms are already on round two (or three) of renovations and makeovers, I guess I better get on this!

We've been making some major progress with the Mud Room lately. I'd like to call it 95% complete. But I guess I never can consider a room fully done considering I live my life in a constant state of re-decorating our home. I have a couple creative ideas I want to do with wall decor in this room, and there are a couple cosmetic issues I want to fix, but we're getting there! As for the full Mud Room reveal, that's a different story. The thought of having the entire Mud Room clean and photo-worthy sounds a bit daunting! So, I guess I'll continue down my path of showing off the room corner by corner.
